On September 30, 2024, the Lusiaves Group celebrated another major milestone in its journey with the inauguration of our new Incubation Center in Pombal. This event was not only an achievement for our company but also a reflection of the growth and innovation potential we have cultivated over the years. We were honored by the presence of the Prime Minister of Portugal, Dr. Luís Montenegro, and other distinguished guests, whose attendance reaffirms the relevance and impact of our work on the Portuguese agri-food sector.

This inauguration symbolizes more than just an investment in infrastructure. The Incubation Center, part of a broader 60-million-euro project, increases our annual production capacity and stands as one of the most technologically advanced centers in Europe. With it, we strengthen our presence in the global market, expanding our exports and consolidating Portugal's position among the world leaders in the poultry sector.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of an extraordinary team that has been with me for nearly 40 years. From the beginning, the success of the Lusiaves Group has been built on values of hard work, constant innovation, and an entrepreneurial spirit. It is precisely this combination of factors that allows us to continue growing and overcoming the challenges that arise along the way.

Technology, Sustainability, and Innovation: The Pillars of Our Future

Our commitment to innovation goes beyond poultry production. We have invested heavily in sustainability practices, such as installing solar parks at all our facilities, allowing us to reduce CO2 emissions by 10,000 tons per year. In 2025, we expect this number to rise even further, with the production of approximately 55 GWh, representing a significant step toward a more sustainable future for the Group and the sector as a whole.

Furthermore, we are moving forward with water reuse projects, among other initiatives, which demonstrate our commitment not only to the Group's growth but also to innovation and environmental sustainability.

Recognition and New Challenges

Over the years, the support we have received from public entities, our partners, and, above all, our team, has been fundamental to our success. The Prime Minister's presence at this event reinforces the importance of cooperation between the private and public sectors to face the challenges of the future, such as the reindustrialization of Europe and global competitiveness.

However, there is still much to be done. We call for the simplification of administrative processes and the reduction of overhead costs to ensure that Portugal remains a competitive and attractive country for investment. We need faster and more efficient processes that encourage the development of projects like this one, which promote local production and sustainability, ensuring a prosperous future for all.

Looking to the future, the Lusiaves Group will continue to invest in innovation and sustainability, always with the goal of creating value for the communities where we operate and for the country. With a team of over 4,500 direct employees and 500 indirect jobs, we are committed to continuing to grow sustainably and contributing to the national economy.
