On July 9th, the Lusiaves Group inaugurated the São Pedro do Esteval 4.0 Poultry Farm in Proença-a-Nova. This infrastructure represents a significant step in the Group's growth and modernization cycle, as well as a major investment in the region's economic and social development.

Built in the country's interior, the new facility combines engineering, technology, energy efficiency, and high standards of animal welfare, demonstrating the capacity of lower-density regions to host modern, innovative, and strategic projects for national production.

This project marks a new generation of poultry production.

With approximately 40,000 square meters of built area, 7 barns, 16 production zones, and a capacity for 711,000 chickens per cycle, the São Pedro do Esteval farm was a significant engineering challenge, both due to the natural characteristics of the terrain and the scale and technical complexity of the construction. The project was developed in detail to ensure fully safe and responsible production.

Several differentiating factors make this the Lusiaves Group's first 4.0 Poultry Farm. First and foremost, the infrastructure incorporates a new barn design concept and construction solutions that reduce solar exposure and thermal load. 

It integrates advanced ventilation and lighting systems, greater process automation, and technologies that allow for the remote monitoring and control of production conditions. Constant tracking of various parameters enables faster and more precise adjustments, contributing to energy efficiency, biosecurity, and animal comfort and welfare.

The farm also incorporates solutions for optimizing rainwater usage, respecting watercourses, and renaturalizing the surrounding area.

The new unit reflects a vision of modernization based on technology, automation, intelligent data usage, and the continuous improvement of production conditions, while keeping people as a fundamental element. This means that it simultaneously reinforces the indispensable role of technical teams, employees, and all the professionals who turn investment into productive capacity and development.

This investment delivers practical results that go beyond animal production. The São Pedro do Esteval 4.0 Poultry Farm represents a concrete commitment to the development of Portugal's interior. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Proença-a-Nova, João Lobo, the President of the São Pedro do Esteval Parish Council, Luís António Alves Gonçalves, Member of Parliament Ricardo Aires, local officials from other regions where the Group operates, and representatives from public entities, partners, suppliers, and employees.
