Between September 4th and 7th, the Lusiaves Group attended the 67th AVEC General Assembly in Copenhagen with a large delegation. The meeting brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts under the theme "Competitiveness in a changing world," reflecting on the challenges and opportunities for the European poultry sector in the current landscape.

The European poultry sector, highlighted as a success story, is recognized for its efficiency, sustainability, and circularity. It produces high-quality protein with the lowest carbon footprint of any meat, contributing significantly to food security and the continent's sustainable growth. However, the sector faces complex challenges: from competition with imports from third countries and regulatory complexity to the urgent need to attract a new generation to agriculture.

For the Lusiaves Group, participating in forums like this goes beyond following trends: it is a commitment to building a competitive, resilient sector aligned with the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and animal welfare. We believe the voice of the European poultry industry must be heard and defended, as not only the sector's competitiveness but also the food security of millions of people across the continent depends on it.
